World Day of Prayer - Heart of Healing

Updated: Sep 30, 2023

Today is Silent Unity's World Day of Prayer. Please read the Daily Word message for today: 9 14 2023. The Scripture reference is from one of my favorite Old Testament Prophets: Jeremiah 33:3 "Call to me and I will answer you and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known." Today marks the 30th anniversary of Silent Unity's World Day of Prayer. Many of my Unity colleagues are gathered at Unity Village Chapel, walking the new Unity Labyrinth and spending time in sacred spaces such as Myrtle's Grove at Unity Village, Lee's Summit, MO, for this year's prayer theme: "I open my heart to healing in this moment."

Unity and other New Thought Churches, such as the Center of Spiritual Living, Divine Science Ministries and Independent Metaphysical Churches that follow such brilliant teachers as Joel Goldsmith are all founded on spiritual prayer or Affirmative Prayer. I already had planned the Lesson theme for this coming Sunday: 9 17 2023; and it seems clear to me that many people may be feeling emotionally & physically stressed in the chaotic times of turbulent weather, flooding, mud slides, high winds (even tornadoes). Of course, all of these situations put a strain on our financial resources as well. The very best response to appearances of chaos is to go into the Silence for Prayer and Meditation. Call to your mind, your favorite Bible passages, inspiration from The Course in Miracles or other inspiring books/teachers. Pay attention to deep breathing as it will help your mind and body to relax. God is the One Power and One Presence within you and within all appearances of chaos. Today's Daily Word affirmation is: "In prayer, I claim wholeness, prosperity and peace." And so it is! Loving Blessings, Rev. Jeri Linn
