What is a Miracle?
Updated: Jul 2, 2022
Greetings Dear Unity Friends & Family:
This Sunday, we will give attention to the subject of Miracles. A Miracle is defined as "An event or effect in the physical world beyond or out of the ordinary course of things, deviating from the known laws of nature, or transcending our knowledge of these laws." - Webster. From the writings of Charles Fillmore, co-founder of Unity, we read in The Revealing Word: "In reality, miracles are events that take place as a result of the operation of a higher, unknown law. All true action is governed by law. Nothing just happens. All happenings are the result of Cause and can be explained under the law of Cause & Effect."
We all deserve a cascade of miracles, each and every day! What we call a miracle is actually the out picturing of a Divine Idea. All things that take tangible form in our Universe began as a Divine Idea. For example, if you are praying for the physical recovery from an accident or illness for yourself or a loved one ... the basic Divine Idea is "God is Life." Here is one of my favorite Silent Unity affirmations about miracles:
"MY LIFE IS ENFOLDED
IN A CIRCLE OF LIGHT,
WHERE GOOD FOLLOWS GOOD;
MIRACLE FOLLOWS MIRACLE AND
WONDERS NEVER CEASE!"
Here are some of the conditions that Unity Church of the Valley is currently claiming in prayer consciousness Divine Miracles:
