The Beatitudes and Gratitude

We studied Matthew Five, verse 9 of the Beatitudes, last week (September 24, 2023) and now on Sunday, October 1, 2023, we continue our study of the Beatitudes with verse 3: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven; and verse 4 "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."

I would highly recommend that you buy a copy of The Sermon on the Mount ... The Key to Success in Life by Emmet Fox. You could also check out a copy at your local library. I am using Emmet Fox's Metaphysical Bible Interpretations for each line in the Beatitudes. Jesus' Sermon on the Mount is basically like having "Cliff Notes" on everything He taught his Disciples and the large crowds who followed Him over the three years of His public ministry.

Supporting our Sunday service is our talented Music Director, Ann Louise Christensen. We are also blessed with our Hospitality Team of Patti & Rick Halliday, Janet Bailey and those kind volunteers who step up to help set the table with the donated salads, entrees and desserts. God Bless the many helping hands!

This coming Sunday is our October Birthday Sunday. If you have an October birthday or have a relative with an October birthday, please let me or Patti Halliday know.

The theme for Sunday's Daily Word is: "Practicing gratitude deepens my experience of prosperity." Suggestion: Focus your feelings of gratitude several times during the day.

Lovingly,

Rev. Jeri Linn
