Happy St. Patrick's Day to You, Today! Also, Sunday is March 20th, the Spring Equinox, which is a day that represents Renewal on all levels of our life experience. You have already been blessed with the Gift of Freedom of Choice when you were born. You can make the choice to think for yourself, continually re-inventing yourself until you fully become your true spiritual identity: the Christ. Jesus Christ is our Role Model. In Unity we refer to Jesus as our Elder Brother and Way Shower. Sunday's Lesson tells of a man who once hated all "Followers of the Way," (the Early Christians who preached the Gospel) and did everything he could to persecute those who believed in Jesus Christ. This story tells of the extremes of the human ego will go to because it does not want to lose power and is threatened by the existence of the Christ. As is the pattern of Aramaic storytelling, it is a very dramatic interpretation of the metaphysical understanding of this ego-centered man who really needs something powerful to help him change his mind. You have probably already guessed the identity of the hardworking young man who was filled with zeal: Saul of Tarsus. Read about his story in Acts: 9:1-30, Acts 11: 19-30 and Acts 13: 1-3.
