Palm Sunday

We are now in the time period called "Easter Week!" Our Sunday service on 4 10 2022 is celebrating Palm Sunday, which is the day that Jesus rides into the City Gates of Jerusalem on the Passover Celebration, on the back of a colt (young donkey) instead of riding upon the back of an Arabian War Stallion, like many of the Roman Guard would ride. This was a deliberate act on Jesus' part to give the message that he comes in humility and peace, and not as a warrior to overthrow the Romans. So, as a Master Teacher, He knew that the great drama was unfolding when His physical life and His true mission as a Spiritual Being (the Christ) was coming to an end. Would He experience pain and the Great Demonstration of Life over physical death that we celebrate as the Resurrection on Easter Sunday: Yes. We are all spiritual beings, with the Indwelling Christ within us. In Unity, we call Jesus our Elder Brother. He shows us the way of overcoming the physical and how to bring the Kingdom of Heaven into Reality on Earth. "Be of Good Courage, for I have overcome the world." In our Silent Unity Lenten Booklet: "Release and Renew 2022: A Spiritual Practice for Lent," we read that Palm Sunday is traditionally a celebration of the Life of Jesus and also a celebration of the Christ nature of each of us. I suggest that you read in the New Testament: Matthew, Chapter 21 for an understanding of the event of Palm Sunday. We have a few extra copies of "Release and Renew 2022 and if you send a Reply message to this email with your name & address, I would be glad to send a copy to you. Also, if you have a prayer request, please send that to our church office, by Reply Mail. We are here to support you, spiritually. We are blessed with our Music Director, Ann Louise Christensen (Christensen Music). Please mark your calendar for 8 21 2022 for a Piano Recital from Ann Louise Christensen and her piano students. The Recital will be from: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary that we share with the Center for Spiritual Living. Dedicated Sunday Volunteers are: Marshall Hall (Sound Board); Janet Bailey; Rick & Patti Halliday (Kitchen Angels) who prepare the coffee and set out our Hospitality Refreshments each Sunday. We continue to hold the Ukrainian people in prayers for Peace and Tranquility and know that with God's help, they are protected and walk in justice and protection and all is well.
